HILO, Hawaii -

A passenger on a flight from Hilo to Honolulu attempted to check in luggage that contained what appeared to be a modified pressure cooker on Wednesday, according to the FBI.

The standard Transportation Security Administration screening of the luggage discovered the pressure cooker.

The passenger was detained for questioning.

The passenger has not been placed under arrest or charged with any crimes at this time.

There were no explosives in the luggage or on the passenger.  The pressure cooker will undergo FBI analysis.

The FBI does not believe that this incident poses any imminent threat to civil aviation based on our limited investigation thus far.  The investigation is ongoing.  No charges have been filed.

At least one of the bombs used in the Boston Marathon bombings last month that killed three people used a pressure cooker.
