EXCLUSIVE: Obama's classmate talks about senior prom
Allman: "This is the first time I saw (Obama) on a date"
KITV4 News has an exclusive interview with a former Punahou School student who shared a senior prom night with her friends, including Barack Obama.
TIME magazine was the first to publish the prom photos on Thursday.
Back in 1979, Obama was known simply as "Barry."
Kelli Allman is in the prom picture second from the left. Her date, Greg Orme, is to her right. And the future U.S. president is in the white jacket.
The photo is taken at the start of the night at Allman's parents' house in Kahala. They had some champagne before heading out to the Oahu Country Club in Nuuanu.
Obama's date on senior prom night was Megan Hughes from Hawaii School for Girls at La Pietra.
"When she walked in the door, I thought, wow! Because I had never seen Barry with any other girls," said Allman. "This is the first time I saw him on a date. I thought she looked beautiful. She really had a pretty face and the body of a goddess. I was just excited for Barry."
Allman said she had a great time growing up in Hawaii. At that time, the driving age was 15 and the drinking age was 18.
"Here we are in this paradise. Young kids in our prime and we're just so lucky to have grown up here," said Allman.

Obama wrote in Allman's yearbook, "It's been so nice getting to know you this year. You are extremely sweet and foxy, I don't know why girls would want to spend any time with me at all!"
Allman says Obama was a bit of a flirt.
"Yes, he was. He was pretty good at it," said Allman. "And we had a lot of fun playing around with words and winks and smiles and all of that. But, he was a total gentleman. It was all innocent."
