The Board of Water Supply says a crew was working to repair a 6-inch waterline that feeds a fire hydrant on Nimitz Highway between Alakea Street and Bishop Street Monday morning.

Two Ewa-bound lanes on Nimitz Highway was closed just before 6 a.m.  Only one lane of open traffic was open.

This break was reported to the BWS Sunday night and crews worked overnight to excavate and initiate repairs.

Repairs were finished just after 7:30 a.m.

Final repairs to the waterline will be rescheduled overnight to minimize impact to motorists. No customers were without water.
