Makiki collision critically injures moped driver

Man, 56, hospitalized in critical condition

HONOLULU -

Honolulu police say a 56-year-old man riding a moped was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday night after a crash at a Makiki intersection.

It happened just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of Keeaumoku Street and Wilder Avenue.

Police say the moped collided with a red sedan.  The 22-year-old man driving a red sedan was not injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The road was reopened at around 10:30 p.m.
