Crews respond to structure fire in Hilo

HILO, Hawaii -

Firefighters battled a blaze that engulfed a single-story structure in Hilo shortly before midnight on Friday.

Fire crews said no one was in the structure located on Kopaa Street. The structure was made out of wooden flooring sandwiched between two metal containers.

Crews controlled the fire from spreading into the brush.

It is unknown how the fire started.

No injuries were reported.

The estimated loss in damage is $120,000, fire officials said.
