The parent company of New Hope Church has agreed to pay $775,000 to settle a lawsuit over its use of school facilities.
New Hope Hawaii Kai, New Hope Oahu and New Hope Leeward were sued last year over underpaying the Department of Education.
The International Church of Foursquare Gospel admitted to no wrong doing, but said "helping schools is a better use than fighting lawsuits."
The attorney who sued said his clients Mitch Kahle and Holly Huber are "...pleased Hawaii's schools will benefit from this resolution now and in the future."
A suit against two other churches that was dismissed over a technicality is expected to be re-filed.
