Chestnuts were spilled on a major roadway in Downtown Honolulu Thursday morning, tying up traffic for some.
It happened at around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Nimitz Highway and Alakea Street.
Witnesses say a produce truck was about to take off at the traffic light when the load shifted. That's when several baskets full of the nuts spilled all over the road blocking the intersection for a short time.
"I seen the whole thing. It spilled out. It was slow motion, ya know," said Ron Molina. "All the nuts was just one big wave and then it hit the ground. And then I thought he lost his nuts."
Police cleaned up the mess and the intersection was reopened in less than an hour.
