The brush fire at Schofield Barracks has now consumed more than 300 acres, according to U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii officials.
The Army resumed fire suppression efforts with water bucket drops at 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Officials say there was minimal fire activity overnight.
There are five helicopters battling the brush fire -- two UH-60 Blackhawks, one CH-47 Chinook, and two contract helicopters.
The Marines are also set to assist with firefighting.
