Boat capsizes off Kaena Point

2 children, 3 adults cling to overturned boat during rescue

Two children and three adults are safe after Coast Goard rescued them from a capsized vessel off Kaena Point.

Rescuers responded around 7 a.m. Saturday morning, and found the five victims clinging to the overturned vessel.  Officials said only the children were in life jackets.

A rescue swimmer was lowered to the water and rescued the children and one adult.  The other two adult men were rescued by a nearby vessel.

They were taken to Dillingham Airfield and treated by emergency medical officials.
