Big Island man pleads not guilty in spear gun case
Curnutt, 49, held on $500,000 bail
A 49-year-old Big Island man accused of trying to kill his landlord's son with a spear gun has pleaded not guilty.
Georg Curnutt is charged with second-degree attempted murder. The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports his trial has been set for October.
Police and prosecutors say Curnutt shot William Sullivan during an confrontation at Sullivan's home in Leilani Estates on June 25.
Bail for Curnutt is set at $500,000.
