HONOLULU -

A bang stick and a razor blade hidden in a shoe were confiscated this week at Hawaii airports, according to the TSA Blog.

The .44-caliber bang stick was found in the carry-on bag of a passenger at Kona International Airport.  Transportation Security Administration officials say bang sticks are prohibited in carry-on bags.

A bang stick is a specialized firearm used underwater that is fired when in direct contact with the target.  This is often used in spear fishing.

A razor blade was found concealed in the shoe of a passenger at Honolulu International Airport this week.

TSA officials say it's important to examine your bags before traveling to make sure no prohibited items are inside. If a prohibited item is discovered in your bag, you could be cited and possibly arrested by local law enforcement.
