A man stabbed to death on a busy street in Kailua The latest attack marks the second DEADLY stabbing in as many nights. KITV4's Ashley Moser spoke with nearby business owners- and has the latest on the police investigation- Robert Pestana - 18:23-18:27 "I'VE BEEN HERE 48 YEARS...IT'S THE FIRST TIME WE'VE HAD A DEAD BODY ON THE STREET." For Kailua business owners...a murder on Uluniu street... Robert Pestana - 18:47-18:50 "I WOULDN'T WALK ON THE STREET BY MYSELF." ...is an alarming reality. Around 11:45 Monday night...police say a man was stabbed multiple times in his torso.. Robert Pastana owns a business across the street from the crime scene. He says there's usually a homeless man who sleeps where the victim was killed. Robert Pastana - 19:37-19:41 "THEY DON'T CAUSE TROUBLE...THAT' S ONE THING I CAN HONESTLY TELL. WE NEVER HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE HOMELESS." No problems with the homeless but what about problems it may cause businesses? Standup 34:02-34:13 BUSINESS OWNERS SAY THAT THIS INCIDENT MAY NOT AFFECT THAT WAY CUSTOMERS FEEL ABOUT THE STREET BUT THAT THE BLOOD STAINS FIRE CREWS ARE CLEANING BEHIND ME MAY BE A HAUNTING MEMORY." Mark Kimbrell 22:24-22:27 "KAILUA THE AREA HAS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS ... A LOT MORE HOMELESS." Last July...a homeless man was stabbed to death in Kailua District Park. Brian Kim was charged with second-degree murder in the case. Ashley Moser...KITV 4 news Police officers searched for the suspect around Uluniu street for about four hours this morning. They say the suspect is a man in his 20s seen leaving the scene in a black baseball cap. You are asked to contact police if you have any information.
