HONOLULU -

The woman who admitted to killing her own dog to police faced a Circuit Court judge Thursday morning.

Andrea Fiegle, 36, pleaded not guilty at her arraignment.

According to court documents, Fiegle told police she slit her dog's throat at her home last week because the dog wouldn't stop sniffing her daughter's private parts.

Fiegle is the first person in Hawaii to be charged with a felony for animal cruelty.

On Thursday, she told the judge that she believes her food is being poisoned which may have caused her to lose control and kill her dog.

She's also upset because her 9-year-old daughter was taken away by child welfare workers.
