Aloha Air Cargo seeks to fill 50 vacancies
Company looking to expand to West Coast
Hundreds of people turned out Monday for a chance to work for Aloha Air Cargo.
The company is hiring 50 cargo agents as it prepares to expand to the west coast.
Some applicants applied for part-time work to supplement income.
Others, like Wesley Young need a full-time job right now. He has exhausted his unemployment and is now using up his savings.
Now, Young is looking at skills he learned more than a decade ago to help him.
"I used to work at FedEx so maybe I can get into Air Cargo, handling and stuff like that," he said.
Aloha Air Cargo needs to fill 50 vacancies that will help the company expand locally and out to the West Coast with a new leg in Las Vegas in late July.
"Las Vegas is going to be the first extension so the bridges we build every nigh inter-island ... we're going to build this long bridge all the way to the ninth island," said Aloha Air Cargo COO Pat Rosa.
Rosa said he's looking for employees with the right attitude to work for a passionate team.
