Admiral Harry Harris Jr. told the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii everything that we are concerned about as a nation -- stability and security is bonded by the waters in the Indo-Asia-Pacific Region.
Harris considers Hawaii to be the gateway. He also says despite sequestration cuts, the U.S. military is strong.
"I think our presence and force is strong and you know we have a great base from which to operate here in Hawaii," said Adm. Harris. "But, part of the message I want to deliver today is that our rebalance is not just a bunch of words. It's real."
Harris says look for the latest in technology coming to the Pacific including Zumwalt-class destroyers and joint strike fighter jets.
