AAA: Weekly gas prices remain steady in Honolulu, drop in outer islands

 In its weekly breakdown of local gas prices statewide, AAA reported that prices either remained steady or dropped over the previous week.


However, the prices across the state increased in comparison to a month or a year prior.

The Hawaii state average for regular unleaded is $4.35 per gallon, the same prices as last week, two cents more than last month and 15 cents more than on this day last year.


Honolulu’s average price is $4.24 a gallon for regular unleaded, the same price as last week, a penny more than last month and 13 cents more on this day last year.

In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.32 per gallon, which is four cents less than last week, three cents more than last month and 15 cents more than this time a year ago.

Wailuku’s average is $4.56 a gallon, one cent less than last week, nine cents more than last month and 38 cents more than the price last year.
