Tomorrow marks the 72nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Among those taking part in tomorrow's commemoration ceremonies... Some young marines who have only read about the events of the day in their history books. KITV4's Jill Kuramoto reports from Punchbowl. 12:12 SALUTING Generations separate these young marines and those buried here. But they're united by a common bond -- a respect for the traditions and duty of US service members. 11:29 WREATH LAYING And honoring the fallen -- just part of the tradition these Young Marines carry on. 6:52 WE NEED AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO REMEMBER WHAT THEY STAND FOR AND WHAT THEY MEAN TO EVERYBODY. 6:57 67 members of this national organization have travelled from their home states to take part in this weekend's Pearl Harbor Day commemoration. They range in age from 8 to 18. Young Marines learn discipline, learn about history and learn about themselves. 22:14 THEY DON'T ALL WANT TO GO INTO THE MILITARY BUT THE CONFIDENCE THEY'VE GAINED THROUGH VITURE OF THEIR TIME WITH THE YOUNG MARINES IS CLEARLY SOMETHING THAT'S GOING TO SET A PATH FOR THE FUTURE. 22:20 And one of the lessons... appreciating our veterans through education and patriotic volunteerism. 1:59 WE CAN LEARN SO MUCH FROM THEM SO TO BE HERE AS A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL AND MEET THESE WONDERFUL HEROES AND TO BE ABLE TO HONOR ALL OF THE FALLEN THAT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. 2:05 12:54 3:20 TO BE ABLE TO MEET THE VETERANS AND THEY'RE SLOWLY PASSING AWAY SO SOON THERE WON'T BE ANY OF THEM LEFT. 3:26 ITS REALLY A HUMBLING OPPORTUNITY TO BE A PART OF IT. 3:28 Assurance to the war heroes resting here... their sacrifice isn't lost amongst these youth. Jill Kuramoto, KITV4 NEWS. Tomorrow... The Young Marines will lead the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Waikiki. They'll be the official banner carriers for 12 ships that were attacked.
