On the Big Island, a car struck a woman with a walker, dragging her several feet on Highway 19, according to police.  The woman was taken to Hilo Medical Center where she later died.

The woman was identified as Pamela G. Wilson of Hilo.

It happened just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday night near Pukihae Street.  The 53-year-old woman was apparently walking on the highway when she was hit. 

Police say the driver of the car was a man in his late 40s or early 50s.

No word yet if speed or alcohol are factors in the crash.
