Areas in downtown Honolulu, Kakaako, and Punchbowl were in a frenzy as authorities searched for Teddy Munet.
The manhunt was in full force, with propellers, on wheels, and by foot.
"We are bringing quite a significant amount of resources of the Honolulu Police Department to bear on this case," said Major Richard Robinson with the Honolulu Police Department.
They were searching for 29-year-old Teddy Munet, who police said was dangerous and possibly armed. There were several different sightings that led investigators around the Honolulu metropolitan area, and to capture him off Waimanu Street.
Earlier in the morning investigators chased a lead by a woman at Punchbowl who said she saw a strange man in the bushes in front of her apartment.
"I saw him right by that green tree. First I looked and then he like looked away, and then I looked again and thought that was really weird and that's when he just totally crouched down to the ground and I thought, 'Oh my God, I got to call the police,'" said Nina Thompson.
We showed her a picture of Munet and she was shocked.
"Yeah, I think that was the man. Oh, I just got chicken skin and it was really weird because I didn't want to make eye contact with him," said Thompson.
She said she can't believe she was so close to who she thinks was the murder suspect. Then more information led the search to Kakaako Waterfront Park, tourists were getting stopped and those who didn't know what was going on just watched in awe.
"I saw all these cops coming one at a time, keep on coming. I saw helicopters flying in the air and people looking in the bushes," said Dennis Deleon.
"I approached my coworkers and they said earlier they saw him out there out by waterfront in the field, black sweater, with head down," said Jonathon Townsley.
Another sighting after the park was at a Wal-Mart where police surrounded the store in quick pursuit of the hunted man.
