Fishery crews with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are responding to a whale that's trapped in the reef in waters near Hawaii Loa Ridge Monday.

Officials say it could be a baby humpback whale, although that has not yet been confirmed.

The whale is thrashing around in the shallow water.
