But paramedics checked out the Itakura's and the occupants of the other SUV, with no serious injuries being reported.

While the Itakura's waited a short while for their ride home, nearby residents will have to wait through the night for he streets to clear. Crews from the Hawaiian Electric Company worked to fix a utility pole damaged by the crash. Power to nearby homes was not affected by the damaged pole.
But all in all, it could have been a lot worse.
"We'll be alright," Kelvin concluded. "We'll be alright."
