Big Island police arrested and charged a suspect in the murder investigation of body found in the Nanawale Estates subdivision Sunday.
36-year-old Jason Russell Jump was arrested at 10:35 a.m Monday after being wanted for questioning in the death of 54-year-old James V. Johns Sr. Jump was arrested without incident in P?hoa.
He was subsequently charged with second-degree murder Tuesday evening, just before 9 p.m. He is being held in the custody of Hilo Police on $250,000 bail.
He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Wednesday.
He was arrested in connection the discovery of Johns Sr.'s body on Sunday around 5:08 p.m. by police responding to a call of a man with an apparent head injury.
The charges came down after an autopsy revealed that Johns Sr. died of severe brain injury caused by blunt force trauma.
