For the third time in four months, a University of Hawaii football player was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Police said Punter Alex Dunnachie was arrested at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday at the corner of King and Piikoi streets.
Dunnachie was released after posting $500 bail, officers said.
On March 28, backup quarterback Cayman Shutter was arrested, and he pleaded no contest to a drunken driving charge. Officials said Shutter has been suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, former Kahuku High School linebacker Alema Tachibana, a backup at UH, was also arrested on a drunken driving charge on June 16.
Authorities said Tachibana is set to appear in court later in July.
