Kick-off to a year-long Kick-off to a year-long celebration. This was the scene at the State Capitol this morning. Hundreds gathered to commemorate the U-H Community College System's 50th Anniversary. Each of the 7 community colleges provided hands-on activities and presentations showcasing what their campus has to offer. That included a fashion show by students from Honolulu Community College, a robot demo by Kapiolani Community College, and a culinary display from Maui College. State lawmakers and the Governor were there to show their support. Coming up tomorrow-- coffee hour with Legislators. Students from nearly 2-dozen schools across the state will meet with legislators to "talk story" and learn about the legislative process.
