The University of Hawaii Faculty Senate decided to delay taking a vote of no confidence on the leadership of M.R.C. Greenwood Wednesday.

KITV was told the last time UH President M.R.C. Greenwood addressed the faculty senate was two years ago.

But she did ask to appear Wednesday, and urged the members to stand with her during this difficult time.

Greenwood said she faced improper political influence and was threatened if she didn't reinstate Jim Donovan she would be subject to hearings and possibly see the university's budget cut.

She appealed for the faculty's support. "I did not conceed to this demand and the reason I did not was to protect the university, its faculty and its indepedance," declared Greenwood Wednesday. "Whether you like the decision or if you hate the decision, whether you are a fan of the AD (Athletic Director) or not, I believe the faculty needs to consider standing with us on this decision."
 

Greenwood wouldn't name names or elaborate any more than that but said she has been unfairly treated, and  that the university has also paid  dearly.

 
"I have been subject to a campaign the university has been tarnished and the UH regents have been dishonored, all though no fault of our own judgement," Greenwood continued.

The faculty senate voted to put off a no confidence vote saying it was premature.
Tomorrow the UH regents will take up the evauluation of the president in a closed door meeting.

Green seemed confident she would have the support of the board on this issue.

The UH Board of Regents is reconvening Thursday to discuss M.R.C. Greenwood's employment at the University of Hawaii.
