God has amenesia, according to Archbishop Desmond Tutu when it comes to remembering our sins.
On the last day of his schedule of public events in Honolulu, the Nobel Peace laureate preached at the Holy Eucharist service at St. Andrew's Cathedral.
Going forward starts with forgiving yourself, said the archbishop.
"And as many times as we fall, so many times God dusts us off and says try again," said Tutu.
On Sunday, the archbishop also participated in an interfaith prayer service with the leaders of different faiths and denominations that practice in Hawaii.
An earlier fundraiser benefited the Desmond Tutu Outreach Fund for community ministries.
On Monday, Tutu was scheduled to have lunch with students from St. Andrew's Priory.
