A green sea turtle that was found injured in waters off the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki Wednesday has died, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Ocean Safety lifeguards helped to bring the sea turtle ashore. The sea turtle was alive when NOAA crews picked up the animal.
The sea turtle died by the time it was taken to the veterinarian.
NOAA says the injuries were caused by a boat strike.
This is the fourth marine animal to be found with major injuries across the state in eight days from probable human contact.
