Trends & Talkers: Feral PigsUPDATED 10:43 PM HST Dec 24, 2013Video Transcript
PAUSE FOR MUSIC Pig problem solved? That's what has you talking tonight. Yesterday we told you about how hunters are offering to take care of the feral pig problem at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe -- for FREE. The problem has gotten WORSE since September... after the city did not renew its contract with trappers with the U.S. Department of Agriculture... Now, hunting groups are saying don't sign the contract , and they will do it for FREE. On our facebook page, John John writes, "Call the guys from american jungle, let them fight for the pig, and the government can make more money to spend stupidly." Jason Amina adds, "Sign'em up and let them take turns..!!" And Irwin Nakasone wonders, "Could this help feed the homeless or less fortunate?" That's certainly some food for thought. The city says it expects to move forward with a decision early next year. Let us know what you think of the hunters' proposal by heading to our facebook page.
