HONOLULU -

Toyota Hawaii said it is monitoring a preliminary investigation by U.S. safety regulators into reports of a possible electrical issue in certain 2007 through 2009 Toyota models.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, an estimated 1.4 million vehicles nationally could be affected.

At this time there is no recall; there has only been a request for additional information on possible issues involving the power window master switch located on the driver’s side door of these model year vehicles:

"As always, the safety of our customers is our primary concern," said Rick Ching, president of Servco Automotive.  "Owners of the identified vehicles who notice anything abnormal with the operation of their power windows should contact their nearest Toyota Hawaii Service Center or call 808-839-CARE (2273)."

Toyota Hawaii is the distributor and retailer of all Toyota vehicles in the state of Hawaii.
