Toddler killed in Makaha hit-and-run
A 3-year-old boy was killed when a car plowed into a bus stop in Makaha late Wednesday night, according to police.
The crash happened just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Farrington Highway near Kili Drive.
Police said the driver slammed into a family as they were waiting at the bus stop for their homeless camp to be set up.
The 44-year-old suspect took off, but officers arrested him for negligent homicide and operating a vehicle under the influence.
At last check, an 11-year-old girl was in critical condition. Three other, including their mother and two siblings, are in serious condition.
KITV4 News will have more on the family who has to deal with this tragedy and on the homeless problem on the Waianae Coast tonight at 5, 6 and 10.
