A 15-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday night in Mililani after a laser beam was pointed into the eye and face of an off-duty Honolulu police officer, according to police.
It happened at around 9:49 p.m. when the officer was traveling on Kamehameha Highway and Waihonu Street.
The officer was struck by a laser beam in the face and eye area as he was driving his vehicle.
The officer was able to locate the boy and recover the laser.
The minor was placed under arrest for possession of a laser prohibited by a minor, harassment by laser, reckless endangerment.
