entities are worthy of admiration. Two star-crossed lovers were remembered at the Tanabata Festival today. The Japanese tradition honors the deities Ori-hime and Hiko- boshi. Legend has it, they were separated by the Milky Way, and could only meet once a year, on the SEVENTH day, of the SEVENTH lunar moon, which happens to be TODAY! Participants flocked to the Dai-jingu Temple of Hawaii and wrote wishes on strips of paper..tying them to bamboo branches to be burned and sent to heaven.
