A man rescued at Makaha Beach after running into trouble in the water has died. Medical examiners have identified him as 40-year-old Eassie Miller from Waianae.
EMS officials say two witnesses helped pull Miller to shore where ocean safety performed CPR until paramedics arrived, Friday afternoon.
Miller was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died Friday.
EMS says waves at Makaha were six to eight feet at the time, with strong currents. Cause of death will be determine after an autopsy on Monday.
