The FBI says tips from the public has led to the identification of a man suspected of child sexual exploitation, who was believed to be on the Big Island.
The FBI is now conducting an investigation into the photos that prompted the inquiry.
No arrests have been made or charges filed, as of this writing. If the investigation culminates in criminal charges, the FBI will make an announcement at that time.
"Thank you to our local press and to the people of Hawaii for spreading the word and assisting us in this matter," said Special Agent Tom Simon of the Honolulu FBI office.
The FBI wants to remind the public that the individual is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
