Preliminary work for road improvements planned for Puhi Road started Monday and is expected to be completed in about a week, according to Kauai County officials.

Surveyors are collecting topographic data of the area.  Flagmen are on-site directing traffic.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the area.
