Sewage pipe fixed at Ko Olina
City said pressurized force main was cause of crack pipe
Broken pipe fixed and trenches refilled Saturday, after city crews worked throughout the night to fix the crack in the pipe that caused at least a thousand gallons of sewage to spew out into the ocean.
The City said pressurized force caused the pipe to burst. Officials are banking on high surf to help clear the water faster.
But the City said the ocean area fronting Ko Olina's first and second agoons will likely remain closed throughout the weekend, until they get the okay from the Department of Health.
