Ka Lae Point
Big Island fire crews are searching for a 67-year-old man who fire officials say was fishing before falling off a 20-foot cliff.
Firefighters responded to Ka Lae Point, or South Point, just before 11 p.m. Sunday.
A Coast Guard C-130 aircraft, a Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter and a National Guard Black Hawk helicopter also assisted in the search.
Fire officials say the fisherman was last seen by other fisherman in the area. They lost sight of the man approximately 50 yards offshore due to darkness.
Fire officials say this is a popular fishing area with high cliffs and strong currents.
