Road repairs create detour to Waianae Valley

The Board of Water Supply  is advising Waianae residents and motorists of a road closure affecting access to Waianae Valley.

Mailiilii Road is closed at the intersection of Paakea Road due to unsafe road conditions following a water main break that occurred in January.  Though the main was repaired and no customers are without water, the Board of Water Supply is working with the City and County of Honolulu to repair damaged storm drains and to restore the roadway.

Residents and motorists are advised to use Lualualei Homestead Road to enter and exit Waianae Valley.

This section of Mailiilii Road is expected to remain closed until the end of March, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
