The American Red Cross is helping a family in Keaau on the Big Island after a fire damaged their home Thursday night.
Fire crews got the call to Keaau-Pahoa Road just before 7:30 p.m.
Fire officials say when crews got to the scene, the home was on fire with two residents in the rear of the building.
Both residents, one of them in a wheelchair, were able to escape without injury.
The fire was confined to three rooms and a hallway area, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
