Raw sewage spills near Ko Olina Resort

More than 1,000 gallons spilled from a force main break and entered storm drain

KAPOLEI, Hawaii -

City crews responded to Ko Olina Thursday night for a force main break that released more than 1,000 gallons of untreated sewage, according to city officials.

The call came in at around 9:10 p.m. and crews responded to 2750 Aliinui Drive.

The wastewater entered a storm drain that emptied near the Ko Olina Resort.

The Department of Health was notified.  Warning signs are posted and officials took water samples.
