Protesters occupying Blaisdell sidewalk

De-Occupy Honolulu makes move after city closes Thomas Square sidewalk

HONOLULU -

The city closed the King Street sidewalk at Thomas Square for maintenance.  A sign said," Use the other side."

That's exactly what De-Occupy Honolulu protesters did on Monday.

The tents are now occupying the sidewalk fronting the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall.

This comes after Mayor Kirk Caldwell signed a bill into law that would allow city officials to immediately confiscate personal property on city sidewalks.
