HONOLULU -

Power has been restored at 2 p.m. Saturday after a broken telephone pole knocked out power to 1,200 customers near 2nd Avenue in Kaimuki.

Hawaiian Electric says the pole broke from a non-critical vehicle crash that happened about 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police contra-flowed traffic on Waialae Avenue between St. Louis Drive and 2nd Avenue until repairs were completed.
