A man suspected of sexually assaulting a young woman near Ala Moana is still on the loose tonight... KITV4's Brenton Awa has our top story. Everyone we asked -- knew nothing... About what some residents are now calling a disgusting crime... Police say a man attacked a woman on Ahana Street around 10-30 Tuesday morning-- when the woman was walking to her apartment. :40 KIM BUFFETT "AS SHE GOT TO HER APARTMENT DOOR HE HIT HER FROM BEHIND, KNOCKED HER TO THE GROUND AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED HER." The suspect then fled the scene but the woman was able to provide a description to police. He's described as a man in his 20's -- 6-feet-3-inches tall -- weighing 250 pounds. He may have short spiky black hair -- and brown eyes. :58 "SO WE'RE ASKING IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION OR HAS SEEN THIS PERSON IN THE AREA, THE BUILDING IS PARTIALLY SECURED BUT WE REMIND PEOPLE OUT THERE IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE SOMEONE IN YOUR BUILDING TO MAKE SURE THEY BELONG." Police say Hawaii has its fair share of sexual assault cases. Residents around Ahana street tell us they've noticed an increase in crime lately... Some believe it's because of the homeless nearby... Others say loiterers are to blame. Now, many simply avoid the area all together. 10:03 "A LOT OF THE TIMES I'LL GO THE LONG WAY AROUND INSTEAD OF TAKING THE SHORTCUT BECAUSE THEY'RE USUALLY HANGING OUT BACK HERE." While not everyone can avoid Ahana street...
