Honolulu police say Royce Gouveia, 27, was booked on second-degree murder charges Monday in connection with the fatal beating of a Kapolei man who was found on a Makakilo sidewalk on Thursday.
Albert Meyer, 29, died of his injuries on Saturday.
The arrest log shows that Gouveia was arrested in Makaha at noon on Monday. The arrest took place on Lahaina Street, at the same address where another man was shot just weeks earlier.
Chris Medeiros was shot at his apartment on Sept. 13, and was taken by a neighbor to the Waianae Comprehensive Center.
Medeiros was later transported to the Queen's Medical Center where he died.
Police charged another Makaha man with his death. Chad Duran was arrested at his home shortly after the shooting and reportedly confessed to the crime.
It is not clear what the relationship between the men were.
Residents of the complex say they were not home around the time that the arrest of Gouveia took place Monday.
Gouveia remains in police custody at a Downtown Honolulu cellblock. As of Monday night, he was not yet been charged.
Gouveia, who has a criminal record, also faces other charges of kidnapping. and abuse of a family member.
