Honolulu police are looking for a red Dodge Charger who they say may have been racing with a motorcycle involved in a critical crash on Moanalua Freeway.

The crash happened at around 1:35 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the freeway just before the Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center and Clinic.

Police say a 59-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition with head injuries.  Investigators say he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a guard rail.

The crash may have set off a chain reaction, causing other vehicles to crash.  Emergency Medical Services officials say a 15-year-old girl was also taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The freeway in the westbound direction was closed for hours while police investigated at the scene.
