Medical examiner identifies man as 40-year-old Kaai

WAIPAHU, Hawaii -

Honolulu police are investigating a weekend argument that left a 23-year-old woman in serious condition and a man, believed to be her husband, dead.

The woman was taken to a hospital after being struck numerous times with a "dangerous instrument," during the incident Sunday night, according to the police report.

The Honolulu medical examiner's office released the identity of the man who died as Anthony Kaai, 40, of Waipahu.  He died of multiple blunt force injuries from a fall.  His official cause of death is suicide.

Police said the man fled the scene and jumped from an overpass near the Waikele Shopping Center.  The man died at a hospital.
