A Pepe'ekeo man and woman were arrested for burglary and other offenses Monday morning in connection with several break-ins during the month of January in the Pepe'ekeo and Ninole areas.
Shaylyn Araw, 21, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, third-degree theft and fourth-degree theft. Her bail was set at $12,750.
Araw was charged with attempted burglary last July in a separate case and arrested again in August for a June 30 burglary case.
Robert Navor, 22, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft, second-degree forgery, unauthorized possession of confidential information, third-degree theft and fourth-degree theft. His bail was set at $13,750.
Both were held at the Hilo police cellblock pending their initial court appearance on Wednesday.
A third individual, 34-year-old Manuel Madrid of Pepe'ekeo, was also arrested Monday on suspicion of hindering prosecution for aiding and sheltering Araw and Navor while they were being sought by police. Madrid was released Monday night pending further investigation.
