Pedestrian incident shuts down Kamehameha Highway
A man was hospitalized in extremely critical condition after he was hit by a van in Pearl City Thursday night, according to police.
It happened on Kamehameha Highway near Kaluamoi Drive.
Police say the man is 30 to 40 years old and was struck while he was crossing Kamehameha Highway in the crosswalk.
The impact shattered the van's windshield. The 36-year-old driver of the van was not hurt.
The pedestrian suffered head and internal injuries.
