Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Waikele.

First responders were called to the scene on Lumiaina Street shortly after 7 a.m. Friday and found a woman unconscious.  She was taken to an area hospital in extremely critical condition, where she died.

Honolulu police say the woman was walking in a marked crosswalk when she was truck by a vehicle.  The 40 year old female driver also has a Waipahu address.

Honolulu police closed the east-bound lanes of Lumiaina Street fronting the Waikiki Premium Outlets for two hours to conduct an investigation.

The woman's dead is the 50th pedestrian fatality on Oahu this year compared to 46 in all of 2011.
