Part of Alewa Drive reopened after repairs to low-hanging wires
1,200 Alewa Heights residents were without power

Honolulu police say the 1500 block of Alewa Drive was reopened Friday afternoon after there were repairs made to low-hanging wires.
Hawaii Electric Company and Hawaiian Telcom crews responded to the scene at around 6 a.m. The reoad was reopened by 1 p.m.
About 1,200 customers are without power in this area, according to HECO. Power was restored by 10:45 a.m.
HECO also says 250 customers were without power in Waihee in Windward Oahu at around 8 a.m. Reports of lightning strikes on wires. Power was restored by 9:45 a.m.
